Orinda CA Real Estate & Orinda Homes For Sale

Orinda, California – Overview

Orinda Downtown

Although technically a city, Orinda seems more like a village to most people. This is undoubtedly a major part of its charm. Orinda straddles Highway 24, with the older Orinda Village on on the north side. The art deco Orinda Theatre is on the south side, as is the newer Theatre Square.

There is a surprising number of businesses here, many individually owned, yet the small town feel is maintained. Orinda homes are mostly from the nineteen fities and sixties but there is also a handful of newer neighborhoods, the most recent being the WIlder development. Orinda home prices are similar to those in Lafayette, and again, this is partly due to the fact that it has its own BART station providing fast access to San Francisco.

from Wikipedia:

Orinda is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 17,643 at the 2010 census, and was estimated in 2019 to have increased to 19,926. In 2012, Orinda was ranked the second most friendly town in America by Forbes. The city is located just east of the city of Berkeley and is home to many affluent suburban professionals who commute to larger cities in the Bay Area such as Oakland, San Francisco, and Walnut Creek. Its location provides for a more rustic landscape, and Orinda’s many parks and trails make it a destination for many Bay Area hikers and naturalists.
