San Ramon & Danville Among California’s Safest Cities

Danville California

Latest Reporting From Security Consulting Website, Safewise

Using the most recent FBI crime report statistics, Safewise analyzed the number of reported violent crimes and reported property crimes, and calculated the rate of crimes per 1,000 people in each city.

Danville Ranked #1 Safest City In California.

Danville holds its rank for the fifth year in a row, and is the only Bay Area city in the top ten.

With a population of almost 45,000, Danville had a violent crime rate of only 0.5 crimes per 1,000 people in 2022, and a property crime rate of 5.3 per 1,000 people. Violent crime remained unchanged from 2021, while property crime decreased from 6.6 in 2021 to 5.3 in 2022.

And it only gets better for San Ramon where we see significant improvement from #25 in the state in 2021, to the 2022 rank of #11. San Ramon’s population is getting on for twice that of Danville, and had a violent crime rate of 0.7 crimes per 1,000 people in 2022, with a property crime rate of 10.4 per 1,000 people.

This is probably no surprise to those of us that live in the East Bay, but it should provide a useful indication to potential home buyers here, regarding some of the best places to live in the Bay Area.
