After a years absence, due to the Covid-19 restrictions, outdoor summer concerts are returning to many, if not all, East Bay locations.
Full details can generally be found on each city’s website, but particularly noteworthy are the Concord Music and Market series at Todos Santos Plaza every Thursday evening from July 15th through September. This series is kicked off by the exciting Cajun music of The Zydeco Flames, while other particularly notworthy bands are The Sun Kings, who are undoubtedly the best Beatles tribute band around, and The Big Jangle, who do the same for Tom Petty’s music. These are all great bands.
San Ramon kicks off its Concerts in The Park series on July 4th where Fleetwood Mac tribute band, Fleeetwood Mask will be on stage in Central Park.
San Ramon also has live music in the new City Center at Bishop Ranch and other local towns and cities with summer concerts include Danville, Alamo and Clayton, where you can see Forever Rod on August 28th – a Trbute to Rod Stewart. This definitely sounds like a “must see”.
For newcomers to the area, please take note that these events are all free. Take along your folding chairs and blankets, a picnic and a bottle of wine and make sure to arrive early for a good position. All these concerts are well attended and the quality is generally outstanding.
